Joining forces

So a while ago I was all “dolls dolls dolls!”

I have a huge love for dolls they are the owners personality in a beautifully constructed miniature and I think they are just beautiful.

unfortunately my imagination just could get enough speed to finish them or make their stories.

but now I gave joined forces with an illustrator!!

he can actually take my dolls and make their back story come alive.

not only that but he has some great ideas for characters which I can bring off the page and give personalities!!

the possibilities are endless!! And the friends we can make are just right.

Well, that escalated quickly!

I have stock, as in products! I actually have things I have made which I can put up for sale.

I may sound shocked at this and I probably am as I just looked in my “finished” box and there are loads!

The problem is now that I don’t have a decent camera and even if I did how do I take photographs of products?

To Mollie makes!! for inspiration.

It just seems so complicated making things, taking good photos, getting them online, describing them correctly, packaging, business cards, blogging, updating, sharing, linking and then sitting staring hopefully at the screen waiting for someone to buy one.

The last time I started something like this I rushed and then ended up in this horrible place where I was desperately putting up posts of half finished frankly rubbish pieces to make my site look full.

This time i’m going to hide under a blanket until my work is finished then I might peek out lol

5 things ive thought

I haven’t done one of these posts for a while which is odd coz ive been thinking ALOT!!!

and yet ive been seriously selfish and not shared it with you…. naughty me.

so let the games begin

5. work, my job has drastically changed in the last month ive gone from being bpart of a large pachine to being a rather large cog in a smaller machine.

im enjoying it so much and gaining lots of valuble do’s and don’t’s for my own business but its defiantly taking the energy out of me.

4. felt I’ve never felt the attraction to this material always opting for traditional fabrics and never being able to find nice soft felt in Swansea.

but I bought a batch from craft cloud this week and I’m loving it!! no fraying no curving so I can sew easier its so versatile.

3. which leads me onto making felt, I dabbled with this while in uni but I never kept it up.

but now!! with Wonderwool around the corner and felty goodness to find I’m on it!!

2. me and my partner are approaching our one year anniversary and I love every bit of it, I’ve never had one before and its such a nice feeling so I’ve been day dreaming about him a lot this week .

1. making!!! I’ve been making again and its great!! never felt so creative when life knocks you around a bit it can seem like the things you love get put on hold and the things that need to be done take over and aren’t so fun at all.

but now with a nice balance between work and creativity I am back with a spring!!!

I love dolls, there I’ve said it.

I love their little personalities and the way we give them whole identities.

we tell them our troubles, they soak up a tear or two, the act out our dreams and they become best friends.

through my degree I made these beautiful things and since then I have tried to re create what I made then, with a bit of difficulty.

I’m not sure if I’m finding it hard because I don’t have good ideas or because I have too many.

I’m defiantly not giving up!! I want to create dolls to fit in your hand, to make you feel confident, to make little girls feel like they have a friend.

and to develop this idea I’ve created a Pinterest board (what else) for doll ideas and I have the whole weekend to work on a little friend.

my lost childhood

ok so the name sounds a little extreme I actually had a lovely childhood full of garden birthday parties and frog shaped jelly.

but what I would have loved to have been, was a brownie.

they are the adventurers of our age, the girls guides who bravely go camping in an age where no girl can leave without their straighteners.

And most importantly I want a brownie badge, i currently have a land girls badge which is a treasured possesion but those beautiful embroidered ones with the crocked shapes inside, I want to earn them like all little girls did and wear them with pride.

I think this should be  place in any young girls childhood, to go to brownies and learn to build a tent but unfortunately I am one of the odd ones out and it may just haunt me forever!!

so to adjust to this I have made a Pinterest board of all the badges I would have liked and possibly some a little out of even my reach!! I’m sure there is a crafty project here somewhere so stay tuned.

Photo of the day

So as my film photography is still being processed here is my pic for photo of the week.

Its not actually my pic but I love it anyway.

When I was younger I had a tree swing in my back garden attached to a huge pear tree (sounds quite fanciful doesn’t it he he he)

Well last week we went to the national botanical gardens and then a country walk and found this beauty.

It reminded me of lots of moments in my childhood home and was lovely.
