So you wanna be a crafter!

I think this phrase should be barked in some kind of Sargent major voice in a loud American accent coz its just that hard!!

How do you do it? How can anyone do it?

I’m finding it hard to even get motivated to go for a run after 10 hour shifts and yet to sit there and use my brain is just even harder.

can anyone give me a few hints? Is there a magic potion or something that no one has told me about?

Praying too a copy of Mollie makes certainly didn’t help and craft fairs seem to be few and far between in my neck of the woods unless you want to pay a months wages.

And   of course at some point I expect to pay that much but I’m not even sure I my work is any good.

In short……. HELP!!!

WP_20150117_001Like I said last week I have started adjusting my dolls slightly like this little girl with her shaped nose I really like this idea and with a new one I drew this morning I will be trying new shapes and sizes to give my dolls character.

Make do and mend

I have read alot lately about women making their wardrobe last, buying clothes to last and “make do and mending” the others.

The latest article has made me rrealize you don’t have to dress vintage to have this attitude, no sourcing old dresses or fixing things to fit. I can have this mentality and wear my own clothes.

Its really inspired me to have a go, I think I buy way to many cheap tops for the sake of it and I loved making so much there doesn’t seem to be a downside to this.

I’ve had a cardigan with a hole in it for years which I might just get round to mending!

And I have just completed my second home made top made from a pattern in Lauren Guthrie’s book and couldn’t feel prouder.

So lets banish primark for a month and see how things go, mend alter or throw things I don’t wear and make a thrifty wardrobe im sure past generations of my family would be proud of!!
