So you wanna be a crafter!

I think this phrase should be barked in some kind of Sargent major voice in a loud American accent coz its just that hard!!

How do you do it? How can anyone do it?

I’m finding it hard to even get motivated to go for a run after 10 hour shifts and yet to sit there and use my brain is just even harder.

can anyone give me a few hints? Is there a magic potion or something that no one has told me about?

Praying too a copy of Mollie makes certainly didn’t help and craft fairs seem to be few and far between in my neck of the woods unless you want to pay a months wages.

And   of course at some point I expect to pay that much but I’m not even sure I my work is any good.

In short……. HELP!!!

The great British outdoors!!

my partner is a country boy, no doupt denying it.

I thought I was a city girl, and that suited me just fine.

but strangely I have found myself sitting in parks, listening to silence.

a copy of country life found its way into my basket at the book shop.

I love the little village we live in and would like it to be smaller without the kfc.

and I want a farm….

I realise I’m probably not cut out just yet to raise at dawn and take on pigs but I starting to find the idea of living in a city really……. Boring.

I also want to make things, jams, soap, chocolate, relish, chilli powder, fresh fried eggs and warm soft bread.

happiness is everything in this world and the dream of opening my curtains to a spall farm garden with a few chickens and a pig pen makes me grin from ear to ear.

so…. Country life how do I subscribe?!?!

Mrs Beetons home management

WP_20150203_002This Christmas my dad was the best dad in the world.

He normally buys all presents on Christmas eve and I love my socks paint brushes and sketch books.

But he also got me this!!!

An original book by Mrs Beeton about how to run your own home.

Everything you could need from hiring your own servants to hosting a picnic (even confirming death in the home doctor section!!!)

Its a little outdated of course but its such a beautiful piece of history.

I love to think about newly married women buying this book, or better being handed down this book from grandparents and setting up home for their family.

I love how Mrs B. knows that women are picking houses, paying bills, managing money and supporting their family in more ways than history teaches us

In todays world women seem to completely shun the housewife image, they make it old fashioned and the idea of being chained to an oven.

but I actualy think that making a home is not an old fashioned idea its just needs to be adapted to todays lifestyles.

I have friends who really hate my opinion, I am not a feminist but I believe that women have a great place to become great people.

and Mrs Beeton is the starting place.

My perfect home Pinterest

So keeping with the future thinking theme here is my perfect home board.

This one has changed quote dramatically since the beginning of this year, back then I wanted a flat and to be “cool”, now I crave more of a family housewife kinda future with a dog and a toaster and a fence and stuff.

And of course children…

So there are old ideas and new ideas but all of which I adore, thankfully the flat I’m in now doesn’t look too different from these pins so I’m on the right track!!!
